Two heritage railways in a week! Following my visit to the Severn Valley Railway the previous weekend, on Friday I visited the Great Central Railway near Loughborough, as they were hosting their annual model railway event.
A weekend away in Bewdley, Worcestershire, gave me the perfect opportunity to spend an entire day on the Severn Valley Railway, a heritage railway running for 16 miles between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth.
Another full day of exploring, with a bus trip down the coast to the resort town of Playa del Carmen, and a ferry across to the Isla de Cozumel.
Day one of a two day trip to visit Chichén Itzá. Today we’re calling in at the old Spanish colonial city of Valladolid, before continuing on to an overnight stay at Chichén Itzá, allowing us to visit the Sound & Light show there in the evening.
Our first day in the resort, and we had already booked tickets online for the ferry crossing to the nearby island of Isla Mujeres. With only eleven hotel nights and so much to see, we had planned most of our itinerary in advance including online tickets wherever possible.
