The Christmas coach trip to London, with Tiffany’s Aunt.
Now a regular annual event, once again we were up early in the morning to catch our coach to London. We spent the morning exploring the shops and sights around Covent Garden, then an early lunch at Sarastro on Drury Lane.
A curious but fascinating restaurant with a theatrical theme. Walls and ceiling are full of old theatrical props and other odds and ends, and some rather bold but unusual decoration in the toilets. Mediterranean styled menu and excellent service. Well worth the visit just for the experience!
Then next door to the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. An excellent adaptation of the Roald Dahl story, with some incredible and very ingenious special effects and set design, beautifully transferring the storyline onto the stage.
And finally, onto the coach again to eat my Wonka Bar on the way home!
